Back to School!

I’m goin back to school, y’all!

I will be working towards my Master of Arts in Community Art Education at Eastern Illinois University. The program is primarily online (the photo is from me setting up my university zoom account 🤓) with on campus Art Studio in the summer semester. My first course starts today — Curriculum Design and Assessment in Art Education. Looking over my textbooks and syllabus so far is so exciting – I feel like I’ve found a path that I’ve been working towards for about 10 years now, each step making things more clear. It feels good when things come into focus like this. I’m so grateful!

With all of this new work ahead, I have decided that I will need to stop taking mending commissions until further notice. I will continue to teach Mending and Darning workshops, and hopefully growing Mends with Frends (a monthly mending group @fiveinonesocialclub where I also offer one on one mending sessions). I’ve had many requests for commissions recently, so I wanted to share my response more publicly here. Though I can’t take on your commission, I would LOVE to teach you how to do it yourself!

Here’s to new adventures and continuing to live by one of my favorite mantras – it’s never too late to begin again 💙
