The Final Push!
3.14.26
The final segment of my Master’s program has officially begun. For the next 6-8 weeks I will be finishing up my capstone research project, which will require a lot of writing, editing, reading, editing again, making, documenting, photographing, organizing, formatting, and just full on creative-juices-flowing locked-in type energy. I’m really excited, really nervous, and really ready to see this through to completion. I’ve already learned SO much in my 2 years of grad school, most importantly how much I love learning - even in such an academic setting. The experience I had in my early college years made me think otherwise - but now I know I just wasn’t in the right environment for my learning style and interests. I’m so proud to say I have a 4.0 as a grad student and CANNOT WAIT to walk across that stage and be handed my Master’s diploma. ALMOST THERE!This is just a small snippet of my project in action; not pictured, dozens of academic articles, books, material scraps, notes, samples, and literal blood/sweat/tears. Oh, and a very tired MacBook.

Mending in a State of Abundance
Shakerag Workshops 202538th Annual Media & Methods Conference at Eastern Illinois University
Had a lovely weekend traveling to Eastern Illinois University (my grad school!) for the 38th Annual Media & Methods Conference on March 8, 2025. I presented 2 sessions of “The Art of Mending” and also got to see some grad school classmates in person. I’m so grateful for any opportunity to teach mending - but I especially love teaching mending to teachers! 🩷
